Issues surrounding privacy, security, technology and the relationship between are pervasive in the 21st century. As we live out our daily lives under these forces it is our responsibility to consider how we fit in to the picture as well. This project seeks to explore these concepts across a variety of physical and digital forms, including zines, posters, paintings, collage and video. Throughout the project a variety of D.I.Y. and internet subculture aesthetics are used the in order to attempt to capture a diverse audience, provide a depth of information, and act as an entry point into the vast and nebulous nature of these subjects for the viewer. All materials are presented in both a physical installation as well as online to allow for a broader distribution of the work and allow people to engage with the content at their own pace. The goal of the project is to provide a way for people to begin to understand better how they might find agency within the increasingly complicated surveillance state that we actively live in.
