Quoswap is a service offered to universities and students. It organizes a student bartering network where ‘Quos’ are the principal currency. The Quo is a value that regards 10 minutes of labor in relation to its quality, which is measured by the evaluation of the swappers’ effort. For every quo a student ‘deposits’ in Quoswap, they are able to ‘withdraw’ equivalent support when they themselves are in need. By taking a co-production approach we are investing in the student’s ability to solve their own problems, empowering them to strengthen bonds between the community and raise social capital. It also gives them the opportunity to improve their skills and expand their portfolios. Students will receive badges at their graduation ceremony validating such skills, based on the rating they obtained through swapping. The student’s profile will act as a reference for the quality of their work. Their information, together with their portfolio and resume will be sent to companies that match their interests. Therefore, Quoswap also serves as a headhunting agency offering companies access to better qualified students, and students better job opportunities.
