Globetrotter is an accolade to the idea of traveling and experiencing the unique cultures around the world. It serves as a platform where travelers or natives can connect, leave tips and share stories about their visit or life in a country. I believe that everyone has a story to tell, whether it is mistaking wasabi for green tea ice cream in Japan or learning to pour wine with the correct hand in Argentina, they are all moments worth sharing. Globetrotter was created for those who are eager to share all of what they have learn in their travels; for those who are interested in obtaining some background information on destinations they plan to visit; and for those that simply just want to share about their way of life. The personal and intimate posts offers glimpses into the backstories of a country’s basic values and practices; as well as informing future globetrotters what to expect when visiting. One key goal of Globetrotter is for everyone to become more culturally aware and breed appreciation and respect for differences between countries. This goal is reflected in the design of the site – in how each of the posts on the feature page is of a different country but the same category. Also, how a region can be compared with another region. The comparisons aim to highlight similarities or differences between the unique countries.
