Tyler Cohen
Mortimer & Mildred

Mortimer and Mildred is a short animated tale of a rotting corpse and the naked blind woman who adores his fleshy cadaver. Inspiration for the piece was drawn from my grandparents’ marriage; she was a nut and he would rather be dead. Their story goes a little something like this: Despite having no heart, Mortimer was the man Mildred loved to death. She has a penchant for the strong, silent type and fancied good bone structure too. Mort was content with any woman in the nude, blind or not. Confined to a couch, from a wound that left him a deaf invalid, the veteran spent several months decomposing in his flat, many years ago. Tickled by what a good listener her late husband was and still is, Mildred never ceased chattering, not even to stop and smell the rotting flesh.
