Logotype is a website concept that explores the idea of logos being used as type. I used the iconic 80’s book Trademarks & Symbols of the World: The Alphabet in Design by Yasaburo Kuwayama as my reference to scan and vectorize roughly 476 logos. Furthermore, an additional 200 logos of my own were created to expand and complete the logotype library. A simple letter or word, when typed in the logotype typeface, is no longer seen in the same form.
This website gives users the option to write their own text as well as randomly generates text from the web into the logotype typeface. The text generated into the typeface can then be downloaded by the users along with the individual logo characters for purposes of their own use.
