The nature of Subjectivity in Digital Media

There is a rise in new media advancements exploiting the realms of augmented and virtual reality. Such technology contributes significantly to our understanding and experience of the world. Are we faced with the prospect of the virtual and the physical merging as to be ultimately indistinguishable from one another, as one seamless, internalized experience? How will such a fundamental shift in control over our sensory connection to the outside world change our relationship to what we consider to be real or true?
