In creating Orbts, my goal has been to simplify the process in which people connect with space, as imagery and video brought back to earth by astronauts and satellites is the only way most humans will ever experience what exists outside our planet. While NASA’s extensive online archive is rich with beautiful content, it is nearly impossible to navigate, difficult to access, and inconvenient to use across their multiple mobile applications. Orbts makes it easy to quickly browse through and save images that pique your interest, with out the committal nature of long texts. Meant to expose users to photos they might not encounter otherwise, Orbts is meant to remind us what exists outside our planet. It’s little bits of space, in your pocket.
