I believe design is a great tool to deliver a socio-political message. Since I have been interested in African social issues, I decided to explore Fair Trade and use motion graphic as a vehicle to inform their accurate situation. I choose Kenya specifically, because of its one-sided portrayal by the media. While Kenya is presented as wealthy industrial nation in most media, its practice of unfair trade affecting girls and women in rural areas has gotten little attention. To publicize, I will make two motion graphics. One is discovering what Kenyan women and young girls have experienced. The second motion piece is offering a solution to help those Kenyan communities. The website will be the main source of information and the primary fundraising tool for the campaign.
