People must have profound interest and passion, even obsession, towards certain things or individuals in order to find solace in the long journey of life. I hope everyone continues to cherish what they have loved for many years, whether or not we can find a sense of belonging in our souls, or perhaps we already have. As for my own obsession, I am still striving to find myself, to find the roots of happiness and pain.
This painting depicts a vast red sea, reminiscent of the LCL sea from Neon Genesis Evangelion. A peculiar-shaped flower emerges from the painting. Flowers cannot originate from the ocean, let alone survive in seawater. Just like myself, feeling lost and not belonging anywhere, I want to immerse myself in this sea resembling sweet, ice-cold orange juice, letting the waves take me wherever. Perhaps subconsciously, I yearn to return to the origin of life, to become a stronger version of myself from the very beginning. I am eager to return to my starting point.
