My thesis Perception of Emotions acts as a new way of perceiving emotions. Looking at different facial expressions, the way people talk, smile, cry, and extracting them and putting them together, creates new ways of perception as well as gets rid of limitations of perception that we already know. It makes the viewer raise questions and wonder rather than giving solutions. By creating new combinations of emotions or “new emotions,” design becomes a new way of exploring and researching. The projects within this thesis reconsider our perception of emotions through methods of extracting and combining. The act of extraction and combination becomes a new world of what people did not know before. Using combinations of emotions, it opens up a new spectrum of emotions that might have not existed before. One of the projects only uses emotions as the only variables, while the other proposes a possible combination of emotional expressions combined with the elements of the real world such as text and photography.
