Drawing inspiration from platforms like Relish and Snapchat, Entwine is an app designed for friends to strengthen their relationships and capture new memories through photography, by enabling users to create prompts and challenges.
The seed of Entwine sprouted from a realization—the power of connection lies in responsiveness. Research by Caravello and Crocker conducted in 2010, "Creating Good Relationships: Responsiveness, Relationship Quality, and Interpersonal Goals” highlights that "projected and reciprocated responsiveness" strengthens both parties' relationship investments. This quote resonated deeply and ignited my passion to explore design solutions that foster meaningful connections.
Within Entwine, users can seamlessly share their photos with friends throughout the day and create a dynamic timeline of shared experiences. Entwine allows users to strengthen their community by allowing them to respond to their friends’ challenges to build context and bring more perspectives to a topic. Finally, Entwine automatically compiles an overview of all the shared photos, providing a snapshot of the collected photos for the challenge, and users can revisit their favorite prompts through the in-app calendar.
Entwine is more than just a social media platform; it's a bridge built from personal experiences and the research of human connection. Inspired by the profound impact of shared memories on relationships, Entwine is designed to nurture and engage genuine bonds between users.
Entwine isn't just about capturing moments. It's about fostering understanding, empathy, and a sense of belonging.
