The Indisciplined Workspace series delves into case studies exploring prevalent and emerging technologies shaping our daily lives. In today's digital age, designers not only create functional machines but also shape narratives that infuse these technologies with aspirational qualities like convenience, exclusivity, and personalization. This blurring of lines between technology’s capabilities and human responsibility demands accountability, yet this aspect often remains unaddressed.
My project critically examines the social consequences of digital technologies by anchoring them in our physical reality. Through case studies on technologies from companies like Apple, Meta, and OpenAI, I aim to reveal their tangible impacts on society and identify the stakeholders involved. By transforming the abstract, exclusive narratives of technology, from sleek digital interfaces to tactile, paper-based desk spaces, I intend to demystify their marvels and ground them in our familiar reality.
