Centralizing on the movement, identity, and presence of a constant and repeating loop, The Circle of Existence focuses on finding a sense of solace in repeating reoccurrences. By documenting loops of daily life, the project aims to explore how an archive of photographs can evoke movement and human patterns. The form and space of the collection is made up of bodies of paper that are repeated and molded into multiple sizes to serve as a difference in frame, which represents the changing day. The interior, however, remains the same, to represent the repetition of the action. The content is film photography, and the size and scale of the different bodies finish the way they start, a consistent loop within the book. The page numbers start and end from 001 to 002, to 001 to 002. The collection of ephemera is bound by a looped cover which is typeset in a constant staccato to mimic the movement of a loop.
To further understand why humans fall in to loops, this archive speaks as a collection showcasing a sense of the lack of moving forward and instead on circling actions within itself. The constant and repeating documentation of the same locations and actions perform as a way to align with the rhythm of the loop, and a trial to find equilibrium within oneself and the surrounding environment.
