On All The Forms We Take is a record of my online activity. It consists of my Google search history, Amazon order history, Instagram posts, and Are.na channel activity. It is indicative of my digital footprint—a conjunction between the physical and digital worlds. Using the collected data from my record, I ran it through AI-based image generators, Tinywow and Runaway, to filter and reinterpret my inputs and outputs through the perspective of artificial intelligence. This project includes three deliverables: a website, a book, and posters.
The website displays the images in the form of a data tree along with a narration to guide the user through the project; the posters are a compilation of AI-generated images collaged to create a visual tapestry; the book is a detailed description of the project, referencing both the development process and my overarching idea. Each image includes prompts that were used in the AI image-generating platforms.
Ultimately, this project underscores the undeniable presence of our digital selves in the vast expanse of the Internet, intricately intertwined with our physical beings. The decision to create both a physical book and a digital website serves as a testament to the duality of our existence—a constant negotiation between the tangible and the intangible, the physical and the digital. Through this project, I invite viewers to contemplate the complexity of their digital footprints and the impact they have on their identities in both the online and offline worlds.
