Mind Your Mind is psychological care service for people who have recently been in a car accident or for those who may already have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), but are not aware of it. I decided to work on this for my thesis because of my own experience. I was involved in a car accident four years ago, but I did not know about PTSD at that time. I just assumed my symptoms were normal and that they would eventually disappear on their own. I did not address the issue right away and did not treat my PTSD for more than one and a half years.
Most people think that car accident-related PTSD is not a crucial issue because they are unaware of what exactly PTSD is. With regards to car accidents, most people are only concerned about the car or physical injuries; people assume that mental problems will disappear eventually, but they can remain for an extended time if not treated properly.
Mind Your Mind is composed of a package of cards, mobile application and website. These tools provide information about vehicle-accident-related PTSD, including how to do a self-screening and how to find/contact counselors and/or psychiatrists to help address these issues.
