As designers, we want to communicate a message successfully and in its full capacity in order to support the content at hand. We focus on the way it is presented to others and gain confidence when it yields an appropriate response. The road to gaining that confidence, and overcoming mental hurdles, is one that isn’t overtly taught to us in classrooms, yet is critical to a designer’s professional success. DesignEd is a publication that addresses peripheral, yet essential aspects of a designer’s career. It is aimed to equip its readers with advice and meaningful paths to overcome insecurities, their ability to compete in the market, and even question the notion of talent as an integral component of a design career. DesignEd strongly believes that a combination of technical prowess and, most importantly, internal confidence are needed to prepare designers for the responsibility of delivering good design today.
