Time Travel is a collection of two books and a video. The collected images create a patchwork of day and night images organized within twenty-four different cities around the world. All the images were taken on February 29, 2016 showing different activities and landscapes within the twenty-four selected cities. My thesis project tries to show that although humans are separated by geography and time on earth, modern communications allow us to record each other’s activities, spaces, and share images. Within this era of mass globalization and digitization—despite the existence of different time zones—we can visually realize how close we are to one another. The “Day” book in this collection includes pictures taken at around 1:00 p.m. while the “Night” book contains pictures taken at around 11:00 p.m. Viewing both books together gives the reader the opportunity to see and compare how similar our activities are from one city to another.
