Experiencing an Urban Mindscape is a collection of color-coded maps that encourages viewers to wander to the destinations according to the emotion they are feeling at the moment or the emotion they wish to feel at the moment. There are twenty-four different dimensions, or twenty-four different links between colors and emotions, that are originated from psychologist Robert Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions. For each dimension is an public object, space or building that corresponds to the color and the emotion it evokes. Each dimension is presented as a single unit, suggesting that one emotion alone is powerful enough for a viewer to introspect about. Each emotion is linked to a chroma, suggesting that certain colors can evoke certain emotions. Through this process, one can deepen a sense of self awareness by thinking about and acknowledging how they feel and responding to their emotional state through action. The twenty-four dimensions of emotions allows viewers to experience a richer inner life.
