Also Known As is a mobile pop-up lab for the exploration of sound and image. Much of the media we consume, regardless of which device it’s presented on, is a combination of sonic and visual content. This combination has a distinct ability to create an experience that fosters a sense of empathy and immersion.
Born out of a feeling of disenfranchisement of queer narratives in the media, Also Known As strives to provide access and guidance to the production of sonic and visual media. Also Known As offers a variety of workshops and classes in a laboratory like setting, as well as provides an ongoing series of performances by artists who resonate with the queer youth community. Experimentation and collaboration are encouraged.
