In the nursing industry, all we see is the nursing staff taking care of the patients, but what happens behind the scenes? How can we monitor nursing care? In the Chinese caregiver system, there is a lack of an effective medical construct for handling caregivers, which leads to many places where nursing staff harm patients for different reasons. In fact, this is a general nursing issue that the project aims to address through interviews with the nursing staff before hiring them, to ensure transparency of information about the nursing staff.
Through research on the nursing industry, I was able to compare the different nursing systems in different countries around the world, utilizing different design mediums to communicate and introduce transparency within the nursing industry. I want to enhance people’s understanding of the Chinese caregiver system and also increase the knowledge of families when they need to find a caregiver to take care of their elderly. Furthermore, I want to improve communication between nursing staff and family members through an application. Focus on hospital recognition of caregivers’ professionalism as well as patient empowerment, thus strengthening the connection between family members, caregivers, and hospitals.
