Recent developments in self-driving technology predict the emergence of self-driving cars in the near future. There is a debate over when the commercialization of self-driving cars will be possible. Research groups are predicting 2025, based on the development of previous advanced driver support systems. This "self-driving" concept could change the field of vehicle services, specifically car-sharing services.
With the trend of self-driving and car-sharing services continuing to grow, various new features are expected to be introduced in vehicles, the importance of drivers and occupants, transport and transport systems and UI is expected to gradually increase, and interface design is needed accordingly. The app MOBL-T focuses on user experience and user interface design between self-driving cars and car-sharing services. It allows people to schedule, request and control future vehicles through interaction and interface design. MOBL-T offers a mix of multiple screens and digital, analog controllers, and gestures. It makes driving on all vehicles an experience that can never be learned. The vision is to build a flexible, standardized and customizable modular UI that can be used for almost any vehicle type. MOBL-T is an app that provides customized rides depending on the needs while on the move.
The final results of the project are shared self-driving cars and their user-experience scenarios, vehicles and mobile interfaces. The project will contribute to providing a safer and more convenient experience through the design approach of future self-driving cars.
