Living a busy lifestyle has always been a common practice in the Chinese culture. This common practice results in a large number of overworking population in China. More than 80% of Chinese employees are overworked and under mental and physical stress at an average or higher level. China’s long-hours culture is rooted in society. Due to cultural pressure, people are working extra hours with lower productivity for the same amount of work to maintain these cultural expectations.
This cultural influence is subconsciously driving a large number of Chinese people into living an unhealthy work life. Overworking can cause serious health issues, lower productivity, and possibly kill you. People should be conscious of this problem and reexamine their current lifestyle. As a graphic and motion designer, I have created a website and motion graphic videos that speak to overworking Chinese about this cultural influence and its consequences. I want my website to become a campaign to make them know their hours of working and to be aware of this problem.
As a final outcome, I am hoping to decrease the overworking population in China and to lower the number of people that could be exposed to overwork health issues in China.
