New York City proudly calls itself the best city in the world. And having lived here for almost four years, I understand why one would say so. This city is full of incredible people and events. However, living here for a while has taught me that New York can also be one of the loneliest cities in the world.
A Lonely Project is a collection of my lonely experience in the city. What does it mean to be lonely? How do we live, if we’re not closely engaged with another human being? How do we connect with other people? Does technology draw us closer together or trap us behind screens?
Loneliness can happen anytime, anywhere. You can be lonely in a crowd, lonely with friends, lonely with family, and you can even be lonely while with loved ones. For feeling lonely, is in essence a feeling of being alone. As thought you were one and you feel as though you will always be that way. Loneliness can be one of the most destructive feelings humans are capable of feeling. It is not weird to feel loneliness, don’t hide and if you are lonely, this one’s for you.
