The menstrual cycle is the natural, monthly series of changes a woman's body undergoes to prepare for a potential pregnancy, and therefore the most important biological process for reproduction and survival of the human race.
However, the bleeding that accompanies periods poses a logistical problem for most women. Every single month, the vagina sheds the blood and tissue built up for fertilization, a process that can range anywhere from a few days up to a week. In higher income countries, periods are often regarded as embarrassing and taboo. In poorer countries, they pose significant barriers to women's educational and social advancements.
This project aims to create a completely organic feminine hygiene product and brand that provides women with trusted sexual health products committed to transparency in all forms. Made with only three ingredients: 100% organic cotton, a plant-based backing and a non-toxic adhesive, Femme comes in customized assortments, delivered straight to your door every month with modern convenience.
Inspired by my own personal struggles with my menstrual cycle, Femme was designed to provide women with the highest quality menstrual products customized for each individual cycle and completely free of toxins and irritants that are often the main ingredients of mainstream feminine hygiene products. The aim of Femme is not only to provide the highest quality products but also to educate and de-stigmatize periods for everyone, while also giving back to the community by providing girls and women with menstrual products in the less developed areas of the world.
