Everything in our bodies has purpose, yet we continue to go about our daily lives without realizing its importance. One in four adults in the United States are living with a disability that restricts their ability to do normal everyday tasks. Some develop a sickness sometime throughout their lives, This has a huge impact on the mental health of those who are affected and may find it hard to get out of this mindset. Those who are diagnosed with a disability become acutely aware of the inner workings of their bodies. They know the marathon that is run each day to support the act of simply existing. You have to adjust your lifestyle in accordance to your treatment, and appointments. Most of the disabled population live a majority of their daily lives at doctors offices and hospitals. Some submerge into the darkness of a poor mental state, fearing the journey ahead.
The brain is the main control center that regulates the body, but once you experience a mental and emotional change it's hard for your body to focus on healing. As a result, a cycle begins causing people to develop new symptoms in response to their new mental state. To make this process less formidable, I designed a book that can be used as a tool to guide you through your process of your diagnosis, From being diagnosed, to treatment plans, what to expect, keeping track of your health and mental health, and to remind you that you are not alone.
