I like games. I especially like boardgames where people need to communicate to truly enjoy. What I like the most about board game is that it creates a topic to talk about and build a joyful relationship between people. From this concept, I started experimenting with how a game can build relationships and solve a lack of communication.
I created a card game for multiple people who are not close to each other, especially those who are experiencing a language barrier. The result was a set of cards with abstract illustrations that let users guess their meaning. There is no words on the card, so users can play without language.
I also created an exchange diary for two people who are already close but would like to know more about each other. As a result, I made a diary for two people. The users alternatively answer the questions written in the diary which leads them to understand themselves deeper. By passing this diary between themselves, they read each other’s handwritten thoughts about one another, record the feelings about the moment they were together, and through this experience would build better and more thoughtful relationships. Working on this journal, users can walk through an emotional Journey together.
