How Fast Can You Kill The Plant? is an experimental board game that is unwinnable by design. Inspired by the “work-rest-repeat” cycle, this project critiques the modern workaholic lifestyle, using common houseplants as a metaphor for the most precious things in life that we tend to neglect.
As a single-player game, it forces the player to progress through each day on a calendar, gradually killing their houseplant(s) by encountering common problems, unforeseen events, and occasional catastrophes. Each game piece references an everyday object, such as receipts, calendars, or lotto tickets. With most materials providing free spaces for writing and sketching, How Fast Can You Kill The Plant? maximizes creativity within the pen-and-paper genre, allowing players to shape the game with their own personal twists.
