May All Wishes Come True is an exploratory project rooted in my personal faith. In China, prayer is deeply embedded in society, even among those without a formal religious affiliation. This widespread reverence for deities sparks reflection on the enduring power of religion and the motivations behind prayer.
Prayer, driven by love for oneself or others, can be categorized into seven types: health, family, relationships, peace, success, good fortune, and tranquility. These interconnected desires are grounded in love, blending emotions and faith. Prayer offers individuals a chance to reflect on their needs and relationship with the divine, providing comfort, guidance, and peace. It also becomes a communal act, strengthening connections and fostering a sense of belonging through shared beliefs.
The book is divided into two parts, with the cover featuring an image of a hand to encourage reader interaction. This design invites readers to incorporate prayer into the reading process, engaging both mind and body. The first part showcases case studies of how prayer helps people overcome hardships, using visual elements to illustrate the journey from darkness to light. It also delves into the historical context of why people pray. The second part explores the content of prayers, providing examples of the desires people express and the diverse ways they pray.
