Each of us stands at the center of our unfolding cosmos, where infinite possibilities stretch across time. The word sonder refers to the realization that every person you meet possesses their cosmos too. Coexisting within countless worlds, time is like a thread that weaves together a wealth of personal memories and moments, each unique to its own path in life. Embracing the idea of bendable time, I aspire to merge different worlds while simultaneously unfolding the past, present, and future.
Cosmos is a collaged short film created from a collection of scenes filmed on the streets of New York City. Through numerous experiments with stacks of separate footage, I controlled certain variables, such as maintaining a consistent height, angle, and distance between the camera and the street. The consistency of my recordings allowed me to collage buildings and people seamlessly. These experiments morphed into the foundation for developing my structured methodology. Just as time threads individual worlds into a coexistence, the film illustrates the boundless freedom and possibilities embedded in everyday life, where the conception of running out of time does not exist.
