In a post-pandemic digital age, communication has been designed to be default and easily accessible digitally. We can “thumbs up” a text message instead of taking that extra 30 seconds to craft a more personal response. It’s become convenient to sit with our phones and mindlessly interact on digital platforms. It’s easy to fall short of keeping up with the important people in our lives—especially when we live in a society where being busy is seen as a status symbol and indication of success.
Reminders is an interactive card set that guides people to take time and create reflective prompts about their relationships that they can use to activate mindful interactions. The deck includes three subcategories: Theme, Subject and Recipient, and the user picks a card from each category to create a reflective prompt. The back of the Theme and Subject cards have some food for thought, a few related words or quotes to spark some creative inspiration.
Everyone expresses love differently, so Reminders is open to interpretation. Reminders can be used to think of creative dates, gift ideas, or give you that little push to reach out to someone you want to spend time with.
Reminders hopes to encourage people to take a break from “being busy” and be more mindful about building our relationships. A little reminder to check in on someone and express love in effortful ways.
