They Think Differently, They Feel Differently invites viewers to reflect on their relationships with their guardians and the pivotal moments that shaped understanding of themselves.
Evoking stories of childhood memories, the exhibition highlights the emotional impact of these experiences and how it has led to personal growth and independence. Often, guardians show their raw emotions in challenging situations: having a fight with a family member, going through a breakup, or having suicidal thoughts. Seeing and understanding these perspectives allows us to see the guardian figure in a new light. We can begin to see them not only as caretakers but also as complex individuals with their own needs and desires.
By showcasing these shared life lessons, the exhibition offers a space for us to reflect on our experiences of navigating childhood and becoming adults.
