Baby Edamame

Baby Edamame is the heart warming story of a tiny soybean who’s trying to find his purpose in life. Born the runt of the litter, he is easily overlooked and ostracized by the other soybeans. As time passes, Baby Edamame’s siblings go on to find their calling as well-known, celebrated soy products, leaving him behind to long for his own success. He sets out on a spiritual quest, in search of the meaning of his existence, and encounters a cast of colorful bean characters that shape his outlook forever. Will Baby Edamame ever find his purpose? This animation is a mixed media short using plush puppets and hand-crafted sets composited within After Effects to give the story its unique look and feel. Additionally, fully voice-acted dialogue as well as original musical score accompany the animation. The piece hopes to show that no matter how small, lost or alone one feels, what is most important is to find love within yourself. Great things come in small packages.
