The places I’ve lived in and cultures I have experienced have left an impression on me, with that I have created patterns based on three places I consider home and incorporated them into home goods. The first is a curtain that has been hand printed traditionally using a woodcut; the pattern I created is based on the immigration of my grandparents in 1947 from Pakistan to India by water. The second product is a table lamp; the patterns projection is reminiscent of the Indonesian shadow puppets. The third product is a plexiglass room divider that has been laser etched; the window pattern is an observation of New York windows and echoes the grid system.
